ABOUT OUR BUSINESS

Since 2005, Precious Sparkle Beads has established itself as one of the premier semi-precious gemstone retailers in the UK always bringing sensational gemstone and other beads of exceptional quality to the UK buying public. The business was created by Dawn Cotton Fuge who has experience of making high quality jewellery and understands her clients' needs for the best materials. As a designer she has designed jewellery projects for magazines including Beads & Beyond, Make Jewellery, Creative Beads & Jewellery and Crafts Beautiful. She is also organiser of the event she created in 2007, The Scottish Bead Fair, which now takes place in Perth and Glasgow, and The Handmade Show. Precious Sparkle Beads provides gemstones to professional designers worldwide, and has also provided beads for works of art and installations including at The Dorchester Hotel, London.

Based in beautiful Perthshire, Scotland, Precious Sparkle Beads is now a bricks and mortar shop as well as an online shop. The shop is located just over Perth Bridge at 10 Charlotte Street, which is the continuation of Tay Street. We are open from 10 am to 3pm Monday through Friday and 10am to 5pm on Saturday (closed Sunday).

At Precious Sparkle Beads we are always searching for  something inspiring and out-of-the-ordinary. All items for sale are hand picked by Dawn. She does not sell anything she would not use herself. Whether you are making jewellery as a career or a hobby, you want the best materials at the best price. We provide that. Our gemstones range from top end to budget, and there is something for everyone.

ABOUT OUR BEADS

We have semi-precious beads made for us by reputable bead manufacturers in India who have been in the business for dozens of years, as well as supporting new and up and coming businesses. Whether it is our hand cut gemstone beads, our pearls or other beads, we always strive for the best possible quality at the best price.

With such delicate beads there can be some variation in stone size, cut and quality. One can expect that with some beads, especially very precious stones, a lower price will correspond with more inclusions in the bead. We try to make descriptions clear with close up photographs so the purchaser can see exactly what they are getting. Even with some of the more expensive beads, due to their delicacy there can be a small minority of beads in a strand that are not perfect and might be deemed unusable. 

All of our beads are natural, undyed and untreated unless it is stated in the product description that they are dyed or treated. The way a stone is cut and treated can have a big impact on price, value and quality, and our prices reflect this. Some sellers describe their beads as "gemstones" when in fact they are man-made or synthetic. We aim to make our descriptions as clear as possible so you know what you are buying.

PRICING

We offer discounts on larger orders, and this is for combinations of beads as well as large orders of just one type of bead.

Orders over £75 receive a 5% discount; over £150 a 10% discount; over £300 a 15% discount and over £500 a 20% discount.

All of our prices are INCLUSIVE of VAT. What you see is what you pay.

We accept special orders and can offer discounts for such orders. Usually there is a one month lead time. E-mail for details.

We also supply semi-precious gemstone beads at wholesale to bead shops. If you have a bead shop you can register at www.psbwholesale.co.uk . This is a strictly trade only website.

PAYMENT

We accept Google Checkout (where you can pay by Maestro as well as credit card), PayPal, card payment by phone and aim to ship same or next day (for same day order must be received by 12pm). All orders are shipped within a maximum of 48 hours, except where an order is placed after 1pm on Friday it will not be shipped until the following Monday. We also accept payment by bank transfer or personal cheque (UK only). Orders paid for by these method are shipped when payment clears.

STOCK

If we appear to be out of stock of any item that you would like, send us an e-mail as we may have the strand you are after, and if not, we can tell you when it will be back in stock.

We do not have a print catalogue due to the changing nature of what we sell. Although we keep many lines in stock, each batch can vary and we like to be able to update description information. Also, we add new stock all the time! So a catalogue would be out of date before it came out.

SHIPPING

UK £2.50 up to cart value of £40 and over £40 is FREE

Europe £5.50 on all orders. European orders are shipped by International Signed For post and are trackable.

USA £6
